This case study I showcases a project I was commissioned to design and prototype, Goowid.

Goowid, is a social media platform aimed at empowering freelancers. The platform seamlessly synchronises with the existing news blog, Freelance Informer, bridging the gap between accessing articles, commenting, creating user profiles, and becoming contributors.

As a UX designer and Webflow developer, I conducted research, designed the prototype using Figma, and implemented a working responsive prototype using Webflow.

In today's rapidly evolving gig economy, freelancers face challenges in finding reliable connections, staying updated with industry trends, and establishing their authority as professionals. Goowid addresses these concerns by offering a comprehensive platform that caters specifically to the needs of freelancers.

The platform integrates with Freelance Informer, providing freelancers with a comprehensive hub to connect, access industry news, comment on articles, create user profiles, and contribute to the blog.

As the sole UX designer and Webflow developer, I took a research-driven approach to my work. I conducted research, including user interviews and competitor analysis, to gain insights into the target audience and their needs. I also drew inspiration from platforms like Twitter and Substack for effective design and display of information. This research informed the development of user personas and guided the design approach to create an intuitive and user-friendly platform.

Figma Wireframes

Utilising the insights from the research phase, I created a wireframe using Figma. The wireframe aimed to showcase the key features and functionalities of Goowid, including  user profiles, commenting system, and contributor options. Iterative design cycles were conducted based on feedback from stakeholders and users to refine the user experience.

Webflow Development

Following the finalisation of the wireframe, I proceeded to develop a working responsive prototype using Webflow. Leveraging Webflow's visual development capabilities, I implemented the design, ensuring a seamless user experience across various devices. I integrated Webflow components such as user profile creation forms and comment submission functionalities, while prioritising responsiveness and optimisation.
